Wonderful weather - a bit hot for the first few days but then perfect for me at about 27 degrees. Managed to do some sketching in graphite and acrylic and hope to work them up later. A new fish restaurant has opened in the village and The Bike Stop is expanding, providing more lovely accommodation for short-term stays in a palazzo at the top of the village. Also checked out two new hilltop towns in the locality. Montepagano which has a little museum and whilst we were there, an art exhibition by Paolo of Spoltore of intriguing sculptures and graphic prints.
The dates for the painting holiday in 2019 are 27th May - 3rd June. The weather will be ideal for painting outside and the village will still be relatively quiet. Having just returned from a lovely visit to our house in Italy, I am very excited about our plans for next year. A new restaurant has opened in Spoltore doing arrosticini (skewered lamb cooked over an open flame) and two nice spaces have become available for our home cooked dining. Angelika is lining up a cook and I shall be doing more investigating of suitable sites to draw and paint.
